Lived experience. Pattern recognition. Practical judgement.
We do not just advise founders, business families and family offices. We understand the landscape because we lead, live, own, govern, operate and advise within it.
Over more than three decades, we have worked alongside business families as founders, directors, CFOs, operators and trusted advisers. That experience gives us a unique perspective to recognise the predictable challenges that emerge as enterprises, ownership groups and families evolve over time.
Founder transition. Leadership succession. Sibling complexity. Cousin engagement. Family office evolution. Capital allocation. Governance tension.
These are rarely isolated issues. More often, they are the natural consequences of growth.
The challenge is knowing what needs to change, when it needs to change, and how to bring the business, the owners and the family forward together.
That is where Lineage adds value. We know this terrain, we understand the patterns and we bring the judgement required to turn complexity into clarity, momentum and continuity.

The same page
We help create shared direction across the family, the owners and the enterprise.
We're not family
Being independent means we bring perspective, objectivity and experienced judgement when it matters most, not just arm’s length "advice".
This is normal
Many of the challenges families face are normal and predictable. We've seen them before and can share what successful families have done to navigate them.

Dominic Pelligana on the critical role of succession planning
Featured on #ausbiz, Dominic Pelligana emphasises the importance of succession planning for a family business or a family office to ensure smooth transitions in ownership, leadership and management. During the interview, Dominic suggests starting planning early, focusing on both business and industry life cycles and aligning family goals.
Succession without a plan can result in costly complications, especially if the next generation shows no interest in running the business.
A key theme is the necessity of communication and explicit discussions about the family's vision for the business. To address disagreements, Dominic highlights the role of independent advisors to navigate such complexities.
